In an interview to New Potato the five-time Grand Slam champion Maria Sharapova recalled her first US Open title in 2006. Sharapova still feels emotional while speaking about it. ‘Winning the US Open as a teenager against one of my toughest rivals, Justine Henin, was a very special occasion,’ said the 31-year-old.
“I’ll always remember those two weeks as some of my best on-court memories.’ Sharapova also revealed what would be her ideal food day: ‘I am all about clean eating and really good ingredients…but of course, I do like to indulge here and there, too.
Recently I was on holiday in Italy, and every meal was the most amazing culinary experience. Fresh figs, handmade pastas, summer tomatoes, fried scampi…and all with the most gorgeous view of the sea. It doesn’t get more ideal that that!’ Commenting on her routines, Sharapova said: ‘I keep my routines simple.
In the morning, I rinse my face, put on Barbara Sturms serum, moisturize, apply Supergoop Everyday 50SPF
sunscreen, then I’m out the door headed to practice. At night, I enjoy taking Epsom salt baths and treating myself to a 111 Skin Rose mask.’ Sharapova will start her new season at the Shenzhen Open joining a star-studded field made up of Caroline Garcia and Aryna Sabalenka among others.
