Meet the ‘secret’ girlfriend of US Open champion Carlos Alcaraz – who became the youngest man to be ranked world No. 1 in the history of tennis following his maiden Grand Slam triumph.
Alcaraz recently posed in a loved-up snap with Maria Gonzalez Gimenez in which he kissed her on the cheek – but the rest of their relationship has been kept under wraps.
Despite that, Maria’s Instagram followers have climbed from around 2000 to 8000 as Alcaraz made history at the age of just 19 years 4 months and 6 days with a four-set victory over Casper Ruud in Flushing Meadows.

According to her Instagram, the pair have tennis as a common love, as Maria plays for Murcia Club de Tenis and shared a snap of her in action back in 2020.
She has posted seven more photos since that date, six of which have views of the sea and three of those with her posing in a bikini in the sun.
Despite his new-found worldwide fame, there has been no public displays of affection between the pair other than the aforementioned snap, but Alcaraz did comment on a bikini snap last year with the words: “My girl!!!”
How many Grand Slam titles will Carlos Alcaraz win in total? Tell us in the comments section below.
Alcaraz had pocketed just shy of $9million (£7.7m) despite only turning 19 back in May, over £2m of which came from his 6-4 2-6 7-6 (7-1) 6-3 win over Ruud, who also had the chance to win his first Grand Slam and become world No1.
Spanish outlet Moncloa reported that the pair were still in a relationship earlier this month – with Maria, 22, liking one of his Instagram uploads earlier this month on his way to US Open glory.
“This is something which I dreamt of since I was a kid, being number one in the world and a champion of a Grand Slam,” said Alcaraz.
Making his journey all the more impressive was his saving of match point against Jannik Sinner in the quarter-finals.
