Carlos Alcaraz has opened up on finishing the year as the world number one for the first time. At the age of 19, he became the youngest player to finish a season at the top of the rankings and received the trophy on Monday evening at the Paris Masters. When asked to explain how it feels to achieve something so phenomenal at such a young age, Alcaraz explained his delight.
“Of course it’s a great feeling, you know, to let’s say in a little part to feel the best player in the world (smiling),” the tennis star said with pride. “On this, it’s a number. For me, it’s just a number. It’s just a ranking. Obviously it doesn’t mean that you’re gonna win every match, every tournament.
